On-squadron activities    Off-squadron activities    About the Air Cadets

A lot of Air Cadet websites seem to show what the Air Cadets is and what it offers.

The aim of this site is not to promote the Air Cadets as such, but to (hopefully) show you squadron life and how much fun you can have, or, if you are a parent an idea of what your children could be doing, while being trained in a 'military' youth organisation.

The official words of the Air Training Corps are:

However, this said, cadet training is not always like the rest of this site makes out, these are just some of the vast opportunities the cadets get while they are members. Normally, cadets will arrive at their HQ: do some drill, work on projects, have inspections, hear about what's going on, do class work on a range of subjects (set-up and taught by the squadron staff and NCOs) and have talks from invited guests among other things.

Also the Air Cadets is not just about young people, it could not operate without adults to instruct, assist with the training, fund-raising, the list goes on. So if you are 20 or over and feel you have something to offer in any way, a hobby, interest, skill or just want to help young people get a chance to do something different, get in touch. It doesn't matter what your background is, it doesn't have to be military. The fun doesn't stop just because you aren't a cadet!!

The age range for joining is 13 - 17.

The Air Cadets is an equal opportunity organisation.
