Lord Lieutenant's Cadet

    Sgt Kim Gardner has been appointed as Essex Wing’s Lord Lieutenant’s Cadet for 2005.  This is a superb appointment, in fact words almost fail me!  Kim is the first cadet from 1582 to be appointed Lord Lt’s Cadet.

    The Lord Lieutenant is the Queen’s representative in the county and as such officiates at events and occasions, that the Queen is unable to attend.  The Lord Lieutenant’s Cadet attends as the representative of in our case all Air Cadets in Essex, which makes this a very high profile appointment.

    During the coming year Kim will be given the opportunity to meet anyone from Her Majesty The Queen and other members of the Royal Family, to local dignitaries and celebrities as she escorts the Lord Lieutenant in his duties.
