Group Captain's Visit February 2003
On the 27th February, our squadron had an
informal visit from London and South East Region's Commandant, Group Captain
Hakin. Apparently, he has not visited the squadron since it changed it's
location over 4 years ago.
Even though the visit was informal, it is still very daunting
for cadets as officers over the rank of Flt Lt are rarely seen by cadets apart
from at important wing or region events.
When he arrived, Cpl Hicks and I went out to
meet him before he spoke to the officer. After he spoke with our C.O., the
cadets were able to impress him with their continuity drill display they have
been working hard on. Before he went, he chatted with the squad about their
career choices and gave everyone good advice if they planned to enter the
Armed Forces.
