Inter-Squadron Athletics

On Sunday 1st of may our athletics team arrived at the church at 7:30 am, where the CO took us to Colchester garrison athletics stadium to compete against all the other squadrons in Essex. As there wasn't many people available to compete on this day, our athletics team consisted of Sgt Bagshaw, Sgt Gardner and myself. All three of us were doing the 100m sprint but in different age groups; I was also doing the 400m. I was in the class "B" boys, Sgt Bagshaw was in the senior men, and Sgt Gardner was in the senior women. All three of us made it through to the finals however Sgt Gardner was disqualified for some unknown reason! In the finals Sgt Bagshaw came away with a bronze medal by coming 3rd in a close and exciting race, and I managed to get 2 golds in the 100m and the 400m.

Corporal Hill

On 1st May, Cpl Hill, Sgt Bagshaw and I travelled to Colchester Garrison to compete in the inter sqn athletics.

I competed in the 100m, winning my heat but then later being disqualified.

Cpl Hill spectacularly won his two track events and also Sgt Bagshaw did really well in the 100m.

It was a great day with lovely weather and with Cpl Hill now going on to represent the wing.
